It is okay if your Sámi leather jewellery gets a bit wet, once in awhile.  This will happen on occasion and should not affect the quality or lifespan of your piece.

More extreme or continuous exposure to water such as showering, cleaning things with water,  or swimming can damage the leather or weaken the threads on your piece.

Of course, cleaning solutions or other chemicals can damage the leather, affect the silver/pewter braids, or weaken the thread.
